A few words about

Welcome to 0-Atlitude, our surfing photography arm of Gekko Studios.

Surfing is an action sport and nothing excites more than getting inside that running barrel or performing an awesome manoeuvre off the lip. The trick is being able to save that moment in time. A moment that always makes you feel good. Whether it be images taken from the shoreline with a telephoto lens, or in-water with you, we can help. Shoreline photos give you a good overall perspective, but the ones that really capture the essence of surfing (although more “adventurous”) are in-water.To make this possible we use AquaTech Elite water housings. They are a great piece of kit and coupled with the latest Canon DSLR cameras and L Series lenses we get high quality images at 10 frames per second in water up to 10 meters deep.This requires us to be extremely close, swimming “in the line of fire” of the surfers on the waves and to be able to quickly avoid being cut up. The results are worth it – very close images from different angles showing the motion, the power and the atmosphere that is surfing.
